Women’s Wellness: How to be Gender Responsive and Identify the Female Impact on Family Systems
What does it mean to treat women in recovery? As women’s roles within family systems are multifaceted, it is necessary that we treat women with a multidisciplinary approach to care. Therefore, we as behavioral health professionals from all avenues must support a continuum of care that prioritizes recovery and healing, while also honoring and remaining sensitive to the unique needs of women. Working together, we can find resolution and assist women to feel empowered in their decisions, create an emotionally safe place, and a trauma- sensitive supportive environment. During this webinar, we will explore various lenses through which we see women’s treatment. We will take you on a journey through a woman’s episode of care, beginning at intervention, through navigating the legal system, the integration of family systems-based treatment, and the importance of a trauma-informed approach to care.
