CARON NEW YORK WEBINAR SERIES: So, Now What? Reintegrating and Staying Connected After Treatment
With the increased isolation and uncertainty facing so many in the past year, the rates of substance use, overdoses and relapse has risen substantially. But there is hope: Many treatment centers are still fully operational and able to take patients on an inpatient or intensive outpatient level. But what happens when that treatment experience ends, and the patient is faced with returning to an environment that fueled their substance use in the first place? Join us for a panel discussion that will provide insights, experience and tips on how recovery is not only possible after treatment but can create meaning and motivation.

Learning Objectives:
• Identify challenges facing individuals who are newly discharged from an inpatient setting for substance use disorder amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
• List programs and services available to newly discharged individuals that are proven effective in maintaining sobriety.
• Understand ways to connect to a recovery community and find motivation when in-person meetings are not an option.
• Outline how families can find support and help their loved one adjust to a sober lifestyle even when in isolation.

Panelists include:
• Kate Appleman, MA, CAADC, CSAT, CCS - Senior Clinical Director of Men’s Treatment Services at Caron Treatment Centers
• Betsy Auray, MA, LMFT - Private Practice Therapist
• Carrie Flemming, MA - Recovery Support Specialist at Caron New York Recovery Support Services

• Just added! Zac Clark and Justin Gurland - Co-founders of Release Recovery
